Ufortunately, there hasn't been a word from Discovery Channel on whether Rusted Development will come back for a Third season.

Discovery Channel

Rusted Development is an American reality series that premiered on March 17th, 2014 on the Discovery Channel. The series focuses on the former WWE wrestler Chuck Palumbo (and car mechanic) and his sidekick Rick Dore (who is well known as a custom car guru) as they go on the hunt to find classic cars. The reality series is coproduced by Discovery Studios and New Entertainment Research and Design. The series is executive produced by John Farrar, Craig Coffman, Jago Lee, Victoria Noble, and Gary Shapiro. To date, there have been two seasons of the series. Season two debuted on September 7th, 2015.

Can you tell me more about the premise of the show?

#RD is also known as Lords of the Car Hoards. When Palumbo and Dore go on the hunt to find classic cars, they contact known car hoarders in an attempt to purchase the cars and rebuild them. In addition to rebuilding and remodeling classic cars, Palumbo and Dore help the car hoarders to rid themselves of unnecessary junk. One of the methods that they use to accomplish this to help them sell off old car parts from their least favorite cars to help repay for the repairs on their favorite cars.

What is the format of the show?

Generally, in the beginning of the show, Palumbo and Dore receive a tip about a collection of cars that have some serious potential but are in need of some love and care. After receiving the tip, the car restoration duo heads over to meet the owner and learn more about the situation. After this initial consultation, Palumbo and Dore pick one car to work on as a restoration product and the deal is sealed.

As part of this deal, Palumbo and Dore help the hoarder to clear out their car lot. Some of the cars are sold as a whole collectible, while some cars are stripped of their parts which are sold and the remaining metal from the car is sold as scrap metal and is used to help create funds to restore the car of choice.

During each episode, the entire process of car restoration is detailed from beginning to end. The beginning to end process includes disassembly, modification, and the final reassembly of the vehicle.

Can you tell me more about the hosts of the show, Chuck Palumbo and Rick Dore?

Chuck Palumbo traveled the world as a WWE wrestler. He won the World Tag Team Championship six times. He has also raced BMX and served in the Navy. He considers his true passion in life to be building custom cars and bikes.

Rick Dore is the co-owner of Slam Garage. He has been a dominant persona in the custom car industry since the 1990’s. Rick’s creations are regularly featured on Hot Rod, Street Rodder, Rodder’s Journal, Custom Rodder, and Rod & Custom magazine.

Is #RustedDevelopment coming back for a third season?

As of now, the Discovery Channel has not yet confirmed a third season of the show. On the bright side, the show hasn’t been cancelled yet either! The second season of the show which aired back in September was fairly successful, we are predicting that there is a pretty good chance that the show will be renewed for a third season beginning this fall. Keep coming back and we’ll keep you updated as soon as we know!

What do you think of this series? Has the reality show craze gotten out of control or this is your favorite type of television? Are you a big fan of car restoration or could you take it or leave it? What do you think of the hosts of the show, Rick Dore and Chuck Palumbo? Weigh in and leave us your thoughts!

this is one of the best shows I’ve seen about car rebuilding/modifying. I like it much better than some of discovery’s other shows. Seeing the guys get and decide on the vehicles as well as removing and repurposing the vehicles that have been left to rust or left in disrepair so others can take over and make them driveable once more. Great show.

I think the show is great. I think everyone at slam are very good at there professional field. I wonder if there are enough car hoarders around for the show to continue under its current venue. I personally hope that slam gets plenty of customers that want and more importantly have the money to pay slam to restore and or modify their vehicles so that the guys at slam can continue to do what they love to do.Restore and fix vehicles and earn the respect and money they deserve. If I were rich. Unfortunately I’m not. I would definitely ship my cars to slam for these guys to restore and or modify.I personally want to wish everyone much success in their careers and personal lives. Keep up the great work guys.As far as my two cents go on Rick Dore and Chuck Palumbo. They are both highly competent and experienced as well as professional. They have great chemistry and seem to compliment each other in the field of restoration and modification of vehicles.

I really enjoy watching rusted development and hope you all come back for season 3. I can only dream of having one of the vehicles you build. I enjoy watching Chuck and Rick who have different ideas about the building but at the end the vehicle comes out beautiful. So by saying this discovery channel get your act together and give us season 3.
