Can you tell me more about the premise of the show?
#RD is also known as Lords of the Car Hoards. When Palumbo and Dore go on the hunt to find classic cars, they contact known car hoarders in an attempt to purchase the cars and rebuild them. In addition to rebuilding and remodeling classic cars, Palumbo and Dore help the car hoarders to rid themselves of unnecessary junk. One of the methods that they use to accomplish this to help them sell off old car parts from their least favorite cars to help repay for the repairs on their favorite cars.
What is the format of the show?
Generally, in the beginning of the show, Palumbo and Dore receive a tip about a collection of cars that have some serious potential but are in need of some love and care. After receiving the tip, the car restoration duo heads over to meet the owner and learn more about the situation. After this initial consultation, Palumbo and Dore pick one car to work on as a restoration product and the deal is sealed.
As part of this deal, Palumbo and Dore help the hoarder to clear out their car lot. Some of the cars are sold as a whole collectible, while some cars are stripped of their parts which are sold and the remaining metal from the car is sold as scrap metal and is used to help create funds to restore the car of choice.
During each episode, the entire process of car restoration is detailed from beginning to end. The beginning to end process includes disassembly, modification, and the final reassembly of the vehicle.
